PCA church plant, Village Church of East Atlanta
Matt and Stacey Armstrong are thrilled to be planting a church in their home town. Though both were born in other states, like many others, Atlanta has become their home. They have two beautiful girls, Zoe (4) and Cameron (2.). Started last September, Village Church is growing fast. Pray for elders with spiritual and Biblical wisdom. Pray for outreach into the neighborhood. Pray for family life.
Cingno and Aung Lai Matu serve a growing congregation of Burmese refugees from the Matu tribe, living in the Clarkston area of Atlanta. Most of the worshipers are between 20 and 40 years old. Worship services are held in the Matu dialect and in Burmese. Last year Sunday morning attendance was 60-80, with many children included. This year it is over 120. Pray for the development of spiritual leaders now in this young congregation.
That the glory of God would be the glory of Atlanta’s college students.
Campus Outreach is a ministry to college students of Atlanta. Our vision is to “glorify God by building laborers on the campus for the lost world.” Our focus is to reach those on the college campus who do not know Christ and to disciple young Christians as they grow in their faith. Sunday night he group meets at church. Meetings are held on campus three times a month on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 pm. Various Bible studies meet weekly as well.

Allison disciples girls on campus at Georgia Tech. Pray for the new girls who have joined this year. Pray for God to put his hands on some of them and call them out as leaders to continue and multiply this ministry and his church.
Christy’s ministry is similar to that of Allison Reubert. Christy has specifically asked for prayer not to get overwhelmed with the need—she senses that much need at Georgia Tech. Pray for the groups of girls she gathers together that they will grow in the Lord and learn to obey him wholeheartedly in every area of life.
Recently married to Brittany, John is still building support for his work on campus at Georgia Tech. He gathers students in small groups for fellowship and discipling. Pray for some of them to become leaders and carry on this work. Pray for others to give their lives in obedience to the Lord’s calling elsewhere.
Steve has heavy leadership responsibilities—pray for God’s wisdom and strength for him, especially as the summer projects begin. Pray for God to call the right people to be involved in summer outreach and leadership training.
Dave works with a young and growing church, as well as an orphanage, a school, and community development. A number of people from our congregation have been to visit him in Nicaragua and help out with the ministry.
HELP (Himalayan Educational Literacy Program), Jordi Village School, India
Now involved in at least four village schools, Nasreen and Manoj work with a team of close to twenty teachers and evangelists, providing elementary education and planting churches in the mountains of India. Pray for the village children that they will come to know Jesus as they hear Bible stories and learn verses. Pray for the teachers, evangelists and pastors that God will strengthen them and enable them to speak clearly and boldly for Jesus every day.
RUF/MTW, Mexico City
Peter works in both campus and church planting ministries. He is young and enthusiastic—and excited about how God is working in Mexico. He welcomes anyone who would like to come and help with English classes and says there are plenty of places where they could help.
Campus Crusade for Christ, USA
Laura and Seth are part of Keynote, a musical outreach wing of Campus Crusade. They did a three-week tour of Australia that reached over 2,700 students, 271 of them responding with decisions for Christ. Their daughter Vivian (Viv) turned two recently. They also have a one-year-old son, Ezra. Pray for continued response to their outreach. Pray also for family and home life, that God will help them honor him there, too.
Campus Outreach, Johannesburg
Pray for the summer teams from Atlanta that go out to join Sheri and Pete and staffers at the University of South Africa every year. Pray for the students that hear the gospel, that they will respond to the Holy Spirit’s work in their hearts. Pray for quality time and blessing for the Ketterman family (Sheri, Pete, and sons: Levi, Rader, Rhett).
That the glory of God would be the glory of Atlanta’s needy.
When asked “Who is my neighbor?”, Jesus told the story of a neighbor in need outside on a road. St. Paul’s Street Care Ministry is helping our neighbors on the “roads”, or rather, streets, of Midtown. Our neighbors are the homeless and others who face very serious life issues that will be conquered by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We enthusiastically participate in this mission of God by combining the ministries of action and Word with our brothers and sisters. First and foremost, our worship services are open to all people. Those on the streets are joyfully welcomed to participate in our worship activities, side-by-side with us. Other developing programs for volunteer participation include:

In response to God’s calling, and beginning at home, the St. Paul’s Missions Team works to cultivate partnerships in gospel ministry that move our body to make the glory of Christ known to the nations.
Since its inception, the Missions Committee has worked to mobilize St. Paul’s members to participate in the great commission at home and abroad. Initially, this began by providing a foundation for which our home ministries were given an opportunity to both form and expand in their roles. Our focus then broadened to include partnerships with cross-cultural missionaries, with special interest on connections which were already present within our community.
More recently, following our merger with Crossroads Church Atlanta, we have tripled our partnerships to include parts of India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Central America in addition to our support for Atlanta-based church planting efforts and college campus ministries. Over the next several years, we plan to increase our dedication, with a goal of committing half of our members and half of our budget to worldwide missions for God’s glory, our joy, and the salvation of the nations.

The Set-up/Lock-up team basically makes the church building a safe, comfortable place to worship on Sunday mornings. Four volunteers are scheduled for each Sunday. Two set-up volunteers (who attend the early service) arrive at 8:00 to unlock doors, turn on lights, set up chairs, prepare communion, clean the stairwells, set out signs, etc. Two lock-up volunteers (who attend the late service) stay after the service until about 1:15 to pick up trash, clean up communion, turn off lights, make sure there are no visitors still in the building, and lock up all the doors. Each volunteer has about 45 minutes worth of work to do altogether and serves once every 4-6 weeks. Set-up/Lock-up volunteers have the opportunity to share Christ’s love through some behind-the-scenes dirty work as they get to know others in the church through serving.
