TopMercy Ministry

That the glory of God would be the glory of Atlanta’s needy.

When asked “Who is my neighbor?”, Jesus told the story of a neighbor in need outside on a road. St. Paul’s Street Care Ministry is helping our neighbors on the “roads”, or rather, streets, of Midtown. Our neighbors are the homeless and others who face very serious life issues that will be conquered by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We enthusiastically participate in this mission of God by combining the ministries of action and Word with our brothers and sisters. First and foremost, our worship services are open to all people. Those on the streets are joyfully welcomed to participate in our worship activities, side-by-side with us. Other developing programs for volunteer participation include:

  • Praying for those on the street and those ministering on the streets
  • Building relationships while serving breakfast on Sunday mornings with a monthly rotation team
  • Organizing and giving “gift” kits: toiletries and basic clothing items
  • Finding other community development ministries for potential partnership (food banks, clothing closets, etc.)

TopInternational Missions

That the glory of God would be the glory of Atlanta and beyond.

In response to God’s calling, and beginning at home, the St. Paul’s Missions Team works to cultivate partnerships in gospel ministry that move our body to make the glory of Christ known to the nations.

Since its inception, the Missions Committee has worked to mobilize St. Paul’s members to participate in the great commission at home and abroad. Initially, this began by providing a foundation for which our home ministries were given an opportunity to both form and expand in their roles. Our focus then broadened to include partnerships with cross-cultural missionaries, with special interest on connections which were already present within our community.

More recently, following our merger with Crossroads Church Atlanta, we have tripled our partnerships to include parts of India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Central America in addition to our support for Atlanta-based church planting efforts and college campus ministries. Over the next several years, we plan to increase our dedication, with a goal of committing half of our members and half of our budget to worldwide missions for God’s glory, our joy, and the salvation of the nations.

TopSetup Team

That the glory of God would be the glory of Atlanta.

The Set-up/Lock-up team basically makes the church building a safe, comfortable place to worship on Sunday mornings. Four volunteers are scheduled for each Sunday. Two set-up volunteers (who attend the early service) arrive at 8:00 to unlock doors, turn on lights, set up chairs, prepare communion, clean the stairwells, set out signs, etc. Two lock-up volunteers (who attend the late service) stay after the service until about 1:15 to pick up trash, clean up communion, turn off lights, make sure there are no visitors still in the building, and lock up all the doors. Each volunteer has about 45 minutes worth of work to do altogether and serves once every 4-6 weeks. Set-up/Lock-up volunteers have the opportunity to share Christ’s love through some behind-the-scenes dirty work as they get to know others in the church through serving.
